Understanding Operator Types

This article will help you better understand the different operator types so that you can use the mobile app more proficiently.

When checking in customers it is important to know what operator type belongs to the correct person. There are 3 types of operators; Primary Operator, Main Operator, and Additional Operator.

  • Primary Operator - This title will automatically be assigned to the individual that created the reservation. Primary operators are required on every manifest. There can only be 1 primary operator per reservation.
    • Important to note: If you need to change the primary operator's information, you can just replace their registration information with the correct person's info. This is common if the person who booked the reservation isn't coming on the trip.

  • Main Operator - This will be the operator when there are multiple products on the manifest. Main operators cannot be on the same product as the primary operator. If they are, it will cause an error. To change this, simply reassign the member to a different type.

  • Additional Operator - Additional operators can be on same product as the primary or main operators, however they cannot be the only operator on a product. As the name alludes, there must be multiple operators for this type to be assigned properly.

The number of products on a manifest will determine the amount of main operators that can be on the manifest. The most common error we see with manifest management is incorrect 'main operator' and 'additional operator' assignment. So be sure to check before you proceed!
